Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of Health & Safety programs in a manufacturing environment.  The Safety Coordinator will assist in embedding our current safety policies within our production and maintenance practices to include World Class Safety methodologies.  This position will assist the EH&S Department in fostering the professional development of facility staff by being a leading, proactive change agent that drives a safe & productive workforce.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist with development, implementation and sustaining of EH&S programs
  • Assist the EH&S Manager in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including EH&S Procedures, Training Programs, Work Instructions and reports
  • Establish, lead, and facilitate Employee Development Training to include; Safety Meetings, Safety Committee & New Team Member Training
  • Establish, lead, and facilitate equipment operator training to include; Forklift, Scissor lift, etc. 
  • Establish, lead, monitor and maintain company safety policies and activities
  • Audit safety programs & activities to ensure compliance, additionally that goals are achieved and sustained
  • Coordinate & Communicate with facility leaders to eliminate barriers. Raise awareness if/when needed by reporting issues to EH&S Manager
  • Motivate, coach and develop Team Members within our facility on improving Safety processes, expectations, and results.
  • Incident/Accident Reporting, Investigation 
  • Performing First Aid, when needed
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of job
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Must possess a safety mindset that no job is worth doing if it endangers the welfare of our TMs

  • Must be hungry and driven to work as a team to achieve success, possessing a desire for excellence
  • Possesses the ability to be cooperative and people smart, listening and understanding why individuals function in the way they do and what drives them to be happy and successful in their work
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years in a safety capacity (preferred)
  • ISO experience (preferred)
  • Team facilitation experience
  • Strong background in problem solving, planning and organization
  • First Aid & CPR Certified (preferred, but willing to certify)
  • Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to work inside and outside, as dictated by the specific duty (regardless of weather)
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, stoop, kneel (with or without reasonable accommodation).  This position will be partially in the office environment and partially in a manufacturing environment.
