JOB SUMMARY:

Ensures that assigned plant operations demonstrate world-class performance.  Provides strategic leadership, management, and technical expertise to the organization.  Plans, develops, directs, implements, and maintains strategies and objectives.  Manages financial aspects of operations and understands the effect on financial performance.  Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for department.  Monitors and controls costs and promotes cost savings.  Maintains appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business goals and objectives.  Performs project work and other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Company operations require management and resolution of critical issues, the resolution of which requires experienced senior management.  Decisions and actions made are likely to have long-ranging effect on organizational effectiveness and success.  Scope of responsibilities is large, often including managing subordinate managers to accomplish overall organization objectives.      
  • Ensures that assigned plant operations demonstrate world-class performance Provides strategic leadership, management, and technical expertise to the organization and the operations team. 
  • Plans, develops, directs, implements, and maintains plant strategies and objectives.  Develops moderate to long-term goals and translates them into short-term plans in support of company goals and objectives.  Provides leadership to managers for strategy implementation.
  • Manages financial aspects of operations and understands the effect on financial performance.  Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for materials, equipment, travel, human capital, etc., ensuring conformity to plan.  Monitors and controls costs and promotes cost savings in support of goals and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) efforts.  Researches and recommends new processes, systems, policies, and procedures to pursue in the future.
  • Develops and manages cross-functional operations leadership teams to meet business objectives.  Monitors productivity of groups and individuals recommends changes where desirable.  Provides leadership and support to staff and assists in employees’ skill development and develops team-based organization focused on goals and objectives.  
  • Performs project work and other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.  Prepares and distributes appropriate communication as necessary.  Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field including eight years manufacturing leadership experience; or equivalent.  Possess high degree of knowledge in manufacturing, operations, process design, systems and quality. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to lead and manage operations toward long-term departmental and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated employee relationship and management skills to support, develop, and lead a cohesive, world-class operations team.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization, represent the company in a professional manner, and to sell concepts to customers and strategies to external and internal management.  Must have a compelling commitment to the values underlying company management systems.
  • Demonstrated project and program management skills and proven financial capabilities to maintain quality, cost, and timing of programs.
