Job Description

General Expectations:

Ensure the timely and accurate collection and submission of payroll data to our home office to process our weekly payroll. Serve as the face of Human Resources for all initial concerns at the assigned plant. Provide administrative support for HR / Employee Engagement initiatives. Advance special projects as assigned using skills, knowledge, and abilities gained through experience and education.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate employee time cards via Kronos or via spreadsheets completed and approved
  • Track absentees, PTO, update TM Attendance folders
  • Run daily production and direct OT reports in Cognos
  • Reviews payroll documentation for accuracy and make any necessary adjustments
  • Complete E-Verify and personnel action requests (PARs)
  • Collaborates with Operations team to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, and rate changes - make updates as necessary
  • Research and resolve questions from Team Members as they relate to the processing of payroll information such as vacation, holiday, direct deposit, garnishments, employment verification, workers' compensation, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, and other changes
  • Assist with the creation of company policies, procedures, job descriptions, and other documentation for the HR / Engagement programs
  • Screen policies and practices to ensure that we comply with federal and state laws
  • Serve as a key participant in the advancement of special HR / OD projects
  • Serve as the back up to the Payroll Coordinator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

  1. Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems and/or Kronos a plus
  2. Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  3. Trustworthy – capable of handling and maintaining highly confidential information
  4. Must be detail oriented and organized
  5. Able to adhere to tight deadlines
  6. Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with all levels in the organization
  7. Knowledge of all HR “acronym” components related to employment law and relations

Education and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in HR preferred
  2. 2-5 years’ experience with computerized payroll processing
  3. 2-5 years’ experience in a human resource role preferred
