The Home Building Group is actively searching for a Fabricator Welding Technician tojoin the team at our facilities location in Knoxville, TN.


The Fabricator / Welding Technician will assist in the designof and implement the fabrication of facility fixtures and tooling.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities

  • Perform custom MIG / TIG welding (7018 & 6010 stick)
  • Skillfully weld various types of steel, metals, and materials
  • Lay out, position, align, or otherwise set pieces in place preparatory welding and measure dimensions to specification
  • Clean and degrease parts to be welded using wire brushes, grinders, or solvents
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment including electric arc welders, gas shielded arc welders, and gas welders
  • Read blueprints and drawings for fabrication of designs
  • Processing improvements of current equipment and designs
  • Forklift and Overhead Crane operations
  • Drive company vehicles as required
  • Paint materials
  • Prepare fabricated designs and materials for shipment to plants
  • Communicate needs for parts, equipment, and upcoming orders
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have communication skills and ability to effectively follow directions
  • Flexible hours are mandatory
  • Must be dedicated to meet deadlines and critical ship windows
  • Must be a team-player and work cooperatively to meet production goals


  • Technical school degree in welding, will consider equivalent experience / testing
  • 5+ years welding / fabrication experience
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability
  • Welding and Shop Safety knowledge
