The Home Building Group is actively searching for a Cost Analyst to join the team at our Wakarusa, IN facility.

General Expectations:

The Facility Cost Analyst will identify plant and cost department problems and will develop and implement improvement solutions. The Facility Cost Analyst will work with plant management to determine and resolve plant processes, take a role on plant teams, and will participate in plant and cost department projects. The Facility Cost Analyst will have a thorough knowledge of cost systems and will perform analysis of cost data to prevent and resolve production and inventory issues. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Government laws and regulations as well as company policies and rules.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Major Objective

Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOM) for each model and each option produced in his/her facilities.  This is accomplished by:

  • Prototyping of new models and options
  • Re-audits of existing models and options
  • Inventory category audits
  • Like model comparisons

Daily Duties

  • Review Daily Production Report for margin irregularities.
  • Monitor Special Request forms and respond as early as possible. This will include providing cost impacts to the special request.
  • Monitor all experience request changes and apply all cost changes as they occur.
  • Log all option and base BOM changes in the Wakarusa Costing Log.
  • Communicate all large BOM adjustments to the Costing Manager.
  • Audit different base and option BOM’s daily. This will require approximately 2 hours on the production line per day.
  • Analyze part numbers for accuracy and adjusting BOM’s with correct part numbers.
  • All other duties that may be required.

Weekly Duties

  • Review all models in the backlog to make sure they have base BOM’s and that they are up to date.
  • Review option BOM accuracy for models that yard during the current week.
  • Attend appropriate meetings.
  • All other duties that may be required.

Monthly Duties

  • If changes to a BOM needs to be made after they come off line, but before the month-end closing date, the home can be re-yarded to record the true or revised cost.
  • Complete the monthly base BOM analysis spreadsheets and send to the Costing Manager for review by Wednesday after close.
  • All other duties that may be required.

Physical Inventory

It is the responsibility of the Facility Cost Analyst to assist the Materials Manager and Costing Manager in preparing his/her plant for physical inventory. During inventory, the Facility Cost Analyst will be responsible for calculating work in process (WIP) inventories. This process takes 7-9 hours per facility after becoming efficient at the process.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft core products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
  • Experience in manufacturing with a preference in manufactured homes
