The Home Building Group is actively searching for an Assistant Materials Manager tojoin the team at our Wakarusa, IN facility.

General Expectations:

 Purchases material for the assigned facility underthe guidance of the materials manager. Works closely with the production team toeliminate shortages & assist with the organization of materials. Usesdiscretionary judgement to manage the materials program at the assignedfacility under the general guidance of the Materials Manager.

Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Check e-mail and voice mail at least three times per day
  • Review packing slips from day before / backorders
  • Review sales orders, and expedite
  • Check on deliveries and review any issues with head of receiving
  • Review in-transit report
  • Conduct Quality Walk
  • Review damaged and obsolete materials and scrap tickets
  • Review change orders
  • Cycle court materials
  • Order (buy) materials
  • Responsible for oversight of material handling department


  • Review Transaction Report
  • Review Retailer Parts Schedule
  • Attend staff meetings with General Manager
  • Attend Team Leader meeting
  • Review Packing Slip file
  • Review supplier invoices over 30 days
  • Attend plant meetings
  • Weekly Managers Quality Walk


  • Conference call with material managers (bi-weekly)
  • Review Transaction Report
  • Review Operation Material Status Report
  • Update options
  • Review Options Listing


  • Physical inventory
