Job Description

REPORTS TO:    PRODUCTION MANAGER  

RESPONSIBLE FOR:    PRODUCTION TEAMS IN ASSIGNED DEPARTMENTS

DELEGATES TO:    TEAM LEADERS IN ASSIGNED DEPARTMENTS

COOPERATES WITH:    QUALITY ASSURANCE, PURCHASING, CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS, MAINTENANCE, SALES

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

Utilize the SERVANT LEADERSHIP approach to COACH and direct the activities of assigned production departments/teams to perform the manufacturing operations in conformance with the following:

1.     Sales orders, engineering prints, and product specifications

2.     Company SAFETY protocols and standards

3.     Company LEAN organizational structure and housekeeping standards

4.     Governmental laws and regulations

5.     Company policies and rules

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • DEVELOP PEOPLE:  Your role is NOT to build product but to BUILD PEOPLE.  Focus needs to be on developing a culture of accountability to oneself and the team within your assigned departments as well as the entire facility.  You must also focus on servant leadership and creating an environment of honest and open communication designed to strengthen our most important asset – TEAM OF PEOPLE!!

  • QUALITY ASSURANCE:  Cooperate with our Quality Assurance Dept. to ensure full compliance. 

  • SAFETY:  Safety of your team is your #1 priority.  Work with our Safety Manager to ensure strict adherence to our safety rules and guidelines.  Recognize unsafe conditions and communicate and arrange for their timely correction.  Observe all relevant OSHA and environmental regulations.  Support and ensure procedures established to assist our division in the ISO-14001 environmental certification.

  • STEWARDSHIP:  Protect our company’s physical assets by establishing the culture of responsibility with our teams in regards to company assets, holding team members accountable for inappropriate us and handling of assets, ensuring proper maintenance is routinely done, and ensuring our facility is organized and kept clean to the standards of our company.  Apply this concept to material utilization as well.  Coach and direct your teams to focus on efficient use and recycling of materials to minimize waste and damage.

  • SERVANT LEADERSHIP:  Set the example by treating all of the team members in your assigned departments with respect.  Display servant leadership by actively looking for ways to help make things easier or more efficient for your team.  When issues arise, promote and develop team member participation in developing solutions and improving results. 

  • ACCOUNTABILITY:  Establish a culture of accountability to the team, to our culture, and to one’s self. Properly administer our company’s procedures and training methods to ensure and develop this trait within your assigned teams.  Remember…IT STARTS WITH YOU!!  

Job Requirements

 Requirements

  • Experience in a management role is preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.

  • Participative management style – advocates team concept.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative.

  • Bachelors preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
